Why I started Different Minds, Shared Future
Autism is something very close to my heart and my family.
Through my family's own experiences, I've come to better understand that every Autistic person experiences the world in their own way - with individual strengths, challenges and support needs.
I created Different Minds, Shared Future to raise awareness, encourage greater understanding and help create a future where Autistic people are recognised, included and given the opportunity to thrive.
Our focus is simple:
Awareness. Support. Opportunity.
I'm starting with a goal of raising $5,000 for Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) to support the important work they do with Autistic people and their families.
But Different Minds, Shared Future is more than a single fundraiser. My aim is to build an ongoing initiative that brings people, families, communities and businesses together through a series of challenges and activities - from basketball, walking and running to golf, tennis and other events.
Each challenge may be different, but they all share the same purpose: raising awareness, creating conversations and supporting the Autistic community.
My first challenge will be:
🏀 1,000 Hoops for Different Minds
10 days. 100 made baskets a day. 1,000 baskets for a shared future.
And this is only the beginning.
Whether you donate, take part in a challenge, share our story or simply start a conversation, every contribution can make a difference.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
Different Minds. Shared Future.
